What is StopBac®?

  • StopBac® is a cost-effective method for the treatment of chronic and difficult-to-heal postoperative wounds that improves patient care, contributes to a faster and more effective wound healing, and saves time and resources in clinical practice.

  • StopBac® is an innovative patented nanotechnology sol-gel solution ensuring an effective wound protective barrier and a long-lasting antimicrobial effect covering a broad spectrum of bacteria, fungi and antibiotic-resistant strains (MRSA, VRE). As a result, it helps the wound for a faster and more effective recovering, prevents infection (including the risk of sepsis) and reduces treatment and hospitalization costs: Reducing the frequency of changing dressings, analgesics and antibiotics consumption, …

  • Due to its properties StopBac® is classified between unmodified dressings and wet-to-dry curing dressings. A simple unmodified dressing has no antimicrobial effect. That is why it cannot protect the patient from the risk of infection of wounds, nor does it actively promote their healing.

  • The bactericidal and fungicidal efficacy of StopBac® is durable (up to 7 days) and even the entire surface of the dressing. The European Wound Treatment Association (EWMA) recommends leaving the dressing on the wound for 4 days.
